So,many(i guess)of you have been asking why was the blog locked down over the few weeks. Let me assure you that, there was no rift or secret human cloning project running behind closed doors hehe (man, i love football news), the blog was locked down by mistake. Have to admit I was the one 'privated' this blog after Juen said he's shifting, but I meant to 'unprivate' it shortly after I 'privated' it (read slowly). Okay, so for unexplainable(i guess it was more to technical) reasons, I couldnt log in to undo it and hence, sqwibblez has been left locked away from public viewing for..eerr weeks, irresponssibly by me. Many thanks hehe no, seriously. But of course, there's no love lost between me and the blog, which is why I'm here to officially put this to an end. Since nobody wants to save this wrecked ship, I'm gonna sink it. Well, I guess this is it. Unless there is a change of mind at the drawing board.

It's probably fair to say that what happened early this morning was of pure luck for the the visitors in blue.. but hey, Dirk Kuyt's shot went through Petr Cech's leg on a timely occasion, we had our own fair say on luck too.

Say all you want if the Blues lacked flair in their attacking and Liverpool had the better of the chances creating and completing passes like potential European champions.. Cause' I've to agree..

But I'm never gonna write my favourite boys in blue off cos you can never put out the flame in their fighting spirit.. Cech proved why he's the best shot stopper around, Terry kept TorresGerrard at bay and Kalou.. he's just running around getting the balls in though I'm tad disappointed with Drog and Lamps when they should have really been a threat from the start..

Sure, you can never compare what you saw at Ewood Park last weekend, possibly one of many great fightbacks Manchester United have produced but this is a long season, how far we've come today when everyone thought we will trip on our own legs, was fueled by that fighting spirit to the finishing line...

Truth to be told, I'm still finding it difficult to sing praises for Grant and his tactical ability but I'm definitely writing this as a tribute, to credit the players who's effort is obvious that they themselves steadied the sinking ship.

With the football season drawing near to it's end, we can finally lay back to our seats and sigh with a relief that -all the big clubs grinding out at each other, crazy upsets, shock results and etc etc - is all finally going to end..

Yet again, life is a cycle and before you know it, the clubs are splashing out cashes trying to top each others' record signings and get the best deal out of the transfer market and the players. In a blink of an eye and there we go again, another season full of surprises and entertaining ball kicking action to expect.

So here's something to do while you anticipate the new season of football, test your knowledge on the latest football transfers. What you should do is :

Get a football jersey..

Imprint the player's name you'd be expecting to see at the club when the season kicks off again..

e.g (David) Villa for Arsenal then you buy an Arsenal jersey and get it done with Villa's name at the back of it.. Or Van der Vaart for Chelsea, Miguel Veloso for Man Utd..and bla bla bla..

Then we'll see how precise you have been watching the transfer news when the new season starts. It's a gamble but hey it's all cool and awesome when you hit bullseye and guess the right purchase!

*This is a run down to the last 5 games of the 2007/08 EPL.. This is totally unbiased, I swear!*

With the league leaders Manchester United being held to a 2 - 2 draw at lowly Boro last weekend, the race for the title was thrown open wide again. Of course, ~~some~~most of you may not agree with this and will brush this off as an understatement based on the league leader's consistency, slipping up on occasions like these are just hard to come by for The Red Devils and how their goal machine, Cristiano Ronaldo is in the form of his life..

Yeap, definitely has the eyes for goals

Considering Liverpool's title hopes have virtually died so long ago (im sorry here Liverpool fans), it has only come down to the other two teams in the circle of the English pride; the Big Four, Chelsea and Arsenal. With 3 points separating each teams, this neck to neck race down to the league title is definitely a season worth of spending every football weekends at the mamaks, the guys and shisha.. (okaylah let's not leave out the girlfriends) =P

Okay, down to business, we're here to talk about how these current top three teams could wrap up the league title in the remaining 5 games. We start off with...

Manchester United

One of the most successive English clubs in history, they were handed some tough games in their remaining fixtures, having to play Arsenal and Chelsea, their closest title rivals over the period of 3 weeks.

[WON] 1st game : vs Arsenal, Old Trafford

No slip ups, a win at home is a must to reel away from the pressure piled onto them by their biggest title threat, Chelsea. Considering Arsenal has never had a good record against Manchester United and they're playing in their own backyard, the Red Devils should wrap this up with maximum points. A draw would only blow open the title race wider. A lost, is unspeakable.

2nd game : vs Blackburn, Ewood Park [DRAW]

At testing match away from home. But, 3 points should be in the bag for the Devils as Rovers are still struggling with inconsistency.

3rd game : vs Chelsea, Stamford Bridge

A win at the Blues' fortress would be mere impossible =P. Only a two way ticket out of here, a lose or a draw. The author would definitely prefer the former. This would be a massive game and it can prove to be a turning point to the whole title race. But who could ever rule out an unexpected twist, this is after all, football..

4th game : vs West Ham United, Old Trafford

People have been talking bout the Hammers morphing into the boogey team of Manchester United, having unexpectedly beaten them twice last season. However, by this around, the title could have been decided. A win for the Devils

5th game : vs Wigan Athletic, JJB Stadium

An astounding win for the Devils expected here.

Moving on,

Chelsea

Having lost the league crown to Man Utd last season, the Blues have definitely come a long way and too long a journey only to finish second best. Despite their hardship and some stern test during the winter break, the Blues have surprised many for being able to stride through without most of their key players for a quarter of the season..

[DRAW] 1st game : vs Wigan Athletic, Stamford Bridge

The Blues have always been comfortable at home and to take all three points from lowly Wigan shouldn't be a Herculean task.

2nd game : vs Everton, Goodison Park [WON]

An acid test, European berth chasing Toffees are never easy meat at home. The Blues should struggle to wrest all three points away from them. Definitely no slip ups here.

3rd game : vs Manchester United, Stamford Bridge

A win will be delightful. This could be the final showdown of the season, probably the league title to be decided here. Massive..massive game...

4th game : vs Newcastle, St. James' Park

Kevin Keegan's Toon army maybe finding their touch again, but it'd be too late to change anything.. Still, a win for the Blues.

Played some good football and led for half the season, suddenly they lost the momentum and ends up playing catch up with Man Utd and Chelsea. But seriously, this bunch of lads deserve all the credits in the world. Imagine being only 20ish and you're already somewhere near the top?

Captain Willian Gallas said they would fight till the end, results at Emirates against Liverpool last week didn't suggest so..

To the end lads, to the end..

[LOST] 1st game : vs Manchester United, Old Trafford

Tough..tough game. If they're ever gonna survive the onslaught of Ronaldo and Rooney is to draw away. A win however would do themselves and the Blues a great deal of favour, apart from putting a huge dent on United's title hopes.

~~2nd game : vs Reading, Emirates Stadium [WON]~~

~~If the Gunners could survive the onslaught of the Devils and are still in contention for the title, then this is a must win game to keep their title hopes alive. No room for mistakes, boys!~~

3rd game : vs Derby County, Pride Park
Easy win here. The Rams, however wouldnt want to give the Gunners a stroll in the park, a fight for pride. Very unlikely to achieve anything significant anyway..

4th game : Everton, Emirates Stadium
With the title most probably decided by the 3rd game, it's only good for Arsenal to salvage what they have lost along the way to finish as second best, maturity.

5th game : vs Sunderland, Stadium of Light
Seriously, is there really any point in discussing this?

With that said, I think we can all expect a new champion by the end of the April..

Okay, maybe I overreacted. Was a little upset last night after the game when the referee made a very bad call against MU which resulted to them losing the quarterfinals. What annoyed me most was when someone said, “Yo Dude, everybody’s into elections and you’re still with football”, I replied, “Yea, well football’s important to me”, and the someone said, “It’s just football only wut”.

I know, football might not be a big deal to some, but there are those who are really passionate about the game. Believe me not, to some, football is their everything. For me, football has been apart of me since I was a toddler. My first birthday cake was in a shape of a football. My first and only toy I had till my parents could afford to get me new toys, a football. How would you expect someone like me not to love football at all??

So yeah, there you have it. I’m not asking any of you to like football. Heck you’ve your own likings n things you go crazy for. Just don’t expect everybody to be like you because we’re not. A friend indeed would respect their friends for who they are. Some love art, some are into books, music and perhaps shopping. But do keep in mind, that some just enjoy the simple game, football.

Last Friday we had our 87th annual sports day. I had taken part in 2 events prior to the actual day which was the 4x100 meters event representing both Cornelius house (red) and the sixth form council, and both races we ended up third. And on sports day I was involved in my last event, the 4x400 meter race. Not only have I never ran in a 400meter event before, I was also the only 6th former taking part competing with 5th formers who were all in the athletic team. A dude from the opposing team cheekily told his teammates that I was the weakest link in my team. And yes I must admit that I was very nervous indeed.

I was the 3rd runner for my team, and by the time I had received the baton, we were way behind the pecking order. I knew that we it was almost impossible for us to catch up. As I ran my first lap (400meters in St John’s field is two full laps) I was behind the 4th and second last runner. And as I approached the starting line, kicking off my last and final lap I told myself this is it. I said, “darn it, this is your last sports day, the last time you’re ever going to be in a race and your last chance to bring home a medal, You’ll be darn to not get at least the bronze medal”. And then, I just ran….

From last, I managed to catch up to 2nd place, and our last runner finished the race 1st.

Okay this is gonna like, be so boring lah..

So the past few days have been filled with catching up with studies sessions, yes that means I actually locked myself in my own room, stayed at home for the weekends just to catch up with work and stuff.

Well, this had to come as I felt so blonde and dumb for the past few weeks. I have no one else to blame but myself for procrastinating and lazing around. =P

This week itself I have 3 assignments due and I'm proud to say I'm down to one =D and it's like 25% completed, yeah like totally. Not forgetting the upcoming tests and stuff for the following weeks. Seriously, I'm hoping to picture myself spending more free time or after classes at the library rather than foos-ing or playing pool, yeah like so keeping my fingers crossed. =P

BUT YOU BUGGERS STILL OWE ME ROUNDS OF FOOS KAY, COS LIKE I SAID IT'S THE UNIVERSAL FORM OF PAYING UP YOUR DEBTS AND YOU GUYS OWE ME MUCH. ENOUGH SAID =P

Went shopping in KL with Jon, Xin Ju and Simon yesterday. . Jon was looking for his long-sleeved batik looking shirts =P which is something new i suppose, to me lah. Simon was shopping for some vibrant coloured sweater and a Elvish 80's white pants..and probably more stuff since I left early..And Xin Ju was just..tagging along, looking cute in his brown sweater(the first time I've seen him wearing that!). So it's funny that I seemed to be the only one who shopped for tees and just plain skate jeans. What? I find it hard to breakaway from wearing tees ok? I like the simplicity of it..I know, I know, I'm boring

I'm almost done with shopping anyways, not buying much this year cos mummy said I could get more shirts on other days. So what's the difference anyway. The last few things left on my list are a pair of new shoes or probably another pair of shorts and more tees! =P Hahaha..But yeah, I'm still thinking bout it. Oh shit this post is so bimbotic and pointless I should really stop now =D.

I think I got more birthday wishes this year, hugs to everybody. The funny thing was how i got lots of them before the actual day. Hehe even my parents celebrated with me one day earlier. Not that I'm complaining. I like LiSha's bday wish the most, she said "May you Bcome the sexiest guy in the universe". I later asked why she doesn't want her bf to be the sexiest guy, n she said she didnt want other girls going after him haha, that tickled me.

A few of us were at ISKL last Saturday for this SEA Forensics workshop. And on that day itself, we were supposed to be sitting for a test back in school. So our teacher decided that we would do the papers in ISKL and while waiting for the workshop to begin we did our test in the student’s lounge at ISKL. Believe me; it was so hard to focus on the test as the ISKL students were constantly walking by.

Okay here’s the interesting part. I was doing my math paper and in came two girls. One of them went to her locker leaving her friend behind. This girl then did something that I’ll never forget. She got onto the table in front of me, and started playing with her hair and combing it in a teasing and flirtatious manner. She was wearing really short shorts and boy was she hot. I think she probably defines the word hot. ISKL even have its own girls’ soccer team. How many girls do you know who plays football?

Truth be told, even though I’m the editor, I have absolutely zero idea on the concept of our newsletter. And, we really do need a name since we’ve decided not to use the former, so if any of you have any opinions, we need as much help as possible. Anyway, this months issue will be based on valentines

Next, our sixth form council will be organizing a charity sports event which would most probably include futsal/ basketball/ badminton/ or perhaps water polo if I’m in the mood to =) Yea, so all KL schools with Sixth formers should get their invitation letters soon *fingers cross*, as soon as we finish speaking to your sixth form council.

Another year, another birthday celebration. Reaching a 104 years old itself says it all. I for one, believe that this is a tremendous achievement. We have always been recognized as one of the Top Schools in Malaysia, famous for excelling in anything and everything, be it academic excellence, in sport or other extra curriculum activities, St John’s Institution has gone a long way since its early days. Yes, we are indeed the pacesetter, the perfect role model for many.

This being my sophomore year in the sixth form would also mean that this would be my last and final schooling year in St John’s. Yet somehow deep down in me, I know that this shall not be my last goodbye. My years in St John’s have nearly reached a milestone.
From the day I first set foot in the compound, I was left in awe. Never in my life had I been to a school so unique, and historically filled with its own divine culture. I knew this school was different, it wasn’t merely just a school, it was a part of history.

I can still visualize my very first day of school. I remember watching Mr. LDV Fernandez (short for Love David Valentine) caning students during assembly. Not only was I shocked, I was afraid of soon joining those boys. That fear for him soon changes to Respect. How can anyone not look highly upon him, after all, he defines what St John’s is all about. Not only was he a former student, he has dedicated more than 3third of his life to the school.

In SJI we not only have people like Mr. David, many have walk through the same corridors and touch lives. People like the late Mr. Leonard Wong and Bro Lawrence who is more Malaysian than he is a Canadian. Not forgetting our teachers who provide a holistic education to us students. They even offer extra caning when you don’t finish your work, if you’re lucky you might get the whole lesson off, outside class of course.

In short, we have it all. Even our school’s name is something to be proud of, for it is name after a Saint and not after some street or district. Furthermore, our school badge itself carries a lot of meaning, from the La Sallian spirit to our alma mater. Would you rather have a golden eagle or a cow on your badge?

And we must not forget our wonderful neighbors. The CBN girls are indeed rare and precious pearls. After the torture in the classroom, watching the girls going gracefully was the best leisure. (this paragraph is quoted from a former Johannian)

How can anyone not come to love a place like this? Happy Birthday St. John’s Institution. You mold us from young, and shape who we are today. What we do without you.

Mr.Han (my new physics/class tchr, aka the most feared tchr in the whole school) really isn't so bad after all. In fact, he actually rocks. His class was bloody lively, he would teach bout electronics and suddenly use marriage and relationships as examples. He has his own scientifically proven pyramid of getting hitch in uni. And he would out run out in the middle of the class to the library just to get a book to show us something.

According to him the chances of guys meeting someone in uni during their first year are close to zero, cos the girls would find them immature, but the chances of a girl meeting someone will get slimmer as time goes by. Oh the redspot n openshelves thing is based on the library as in the redspot section being the highest demand section.

Whats this gotta do with physics?? Beats me =)

Goodbye 07, 08 you'll just have to wait, we're not ready to let you in yet

I had spent the early hours of 08 going back and forth to the toilet to puke. It's probably because I drank (lots) with an empty stomach the night before =)

Anyway, just to recap 07, about 365 days ago, I was there, sitting at the airport alone, not wanting 07 to come because I didn't want to attend the national service, but it turned out to be a blast. And after 3months was up, me being me, had no heart leaving Sarawak. (I think I've blogged bout this)

The next 3months to come were probably one of the finest moments of my life (if not the). As some might know, I had been going after a certain someone for ages, and thankfully, we finally got together. And well for once in my life I felt,hmm complete I would say. The feeling's indescribable, having someone to love your heart out, be loved, something to treasure for life. She meant the world to me and I was so proud to have her. Maybe I'm being naive in saying this but it was like knowing that she was the one.

And somehow things turned sour, I guess its a tough job being with one like me (ask my critics, they'll ve plenty to tell). And maybe the good Lord knew tht she might ve loose her head and strangle me to death eventually.

Come July it was one hell of a roller coaster ride, I wanted to be the best at everything. I was chasing everything my palms would allow me to grab, wanting to be the best student in school, wanting to be the next head boy, wanting to do wonders and perhaps play god but most importantly, wanting her to be proud of me. And yea, it was tough times, I would spent 3quarters of my life in school, barely had time to sleep. I guess there's a price to pay for everything, my studies hit rock bottom, I had no friends, and I stopped seeing her.

I eventually got what I wanted, holding the most positions in school and probably a member in uncountable no of clubs and societies. Now I ask myself, what for?

Well the last part of 07 wasn't getting any better. Lets just say I'm not who I used to be. I've lost all my hopes and dreams, I've stopped praying, heck I don't even know what I want in life. I don't talk to Jia anymore, I perhaps have stop loving football and I no longer speak to my parents. Every conversation we have ends with an argument. I have now gotten to know Mr. Cigarette and Mr. Alcohol, whom must be my best pals.

It's not as fun as you think it is you know mhsuan, having to please everybody in school, from the students, to the teachers, even the cleaners. Try having to put up a big fake smile everyday to a few hundred people, and having those, whom I call my friends to critic me day in day out, who might probably start talking the moment I publish this post.

I envy you simon n wz, you live a quiet and carefree world all the way in Nilai, all I've is that lil corner of my room. Like yeelyn said, live sucks, I damn well know better.

Oh well, i guess its time to stop whining and welcome 08
